The following list are some of the basic do’s and don’ts that you should consider when
planning your tented wedding.

Do’s
Use vendors that have a good reputation as wedding service providers.

Have a fair weather, foul weather plan for the day of your event, (Stick to a heavy
duty, weather resistant tent).

Make sure the rental company and the caterer you choose have experience with
tented weddings.

Make sure you discuss and understand all the costs and provisions with your caterer
before signing on the dotted line, (If your getting linens from your caterer, make sure
you clarify exactly what your getting).

Take the time to meet with our service representative. Discuss issues such as tent setup
day, decorations, weather related polices, cancellations, permitting, quality and tent
cleanliness. If their are uncertainties about your tent site, have it checked by our
wedding tent professional.

Have a party coordinator or trusted person help with the wedding planning and
assisting the day of your wedding.

Check with vendors how much power they will need, (check electrical cord
requirements with each vendor). We can help you determine your power needs.

Ask your entrainment what they will you need from you, (tables, table skirting, platform
or stage, power).

Make sure you have enough parking. If you need additional restroom capacity, rent a
porta potti for the gentlemen. Trailers are also available for that extra nice touch,
(restroom trailer rentals are very expensive).

Make sure your guests are aware that your having an outdoor party and have proper
footwear, (
even if you floor in a tent the paths leading to a tent may not be suitable
for some types of footwear
).

Don’ts
Don’t take for granted that a rental company is always going to have the equipment
you want available, (book early to guarantee that you have what you want for your
party).

Don’t choose a rental company solely based on cost. (you may be very disappointed)

Don’t piece meal your party rental needs together, (try to minimize the number of
rental companies that are providing equipment, this is usually easier and cheaper).

Don’t take chances with decorations damaging a tent. (discuss decorations with your
party rental company, if you have a professional decorator involved, make sure they
assume any damage they may cause, establish when and who will remove
decorations).

Don't choose a tent with colored vinyl or fabrics that gives of yellowish-brown hue. All
your pictures will take on hue of the color or the tent.

Don’t purchase useless damage waivers, (read the fine print and check if your home
owners insurance covers rental equipment).

Don’t take for granted that your going to have a perfect weather day, (have a back
up plan).

Don’t expect a party rental company to clean up and remove decorations, (rental
companies are not clean up companies, save yourself a bill and make provisions for
clean up after your party).
