| Party tents are very different than buildings. There is no code of how much wind or bad weather they must handle. The only assurance that your tent will stay standing for your party is the quality of the tent and the skill of the installer. Party tents can be light duty (canopies) or heavy duty. Does this make a difference?, YES!!! This is New England!, Weather changes quick from fair to poor quickly. Strong winds are common and come with little warning. We can honestly say, after 15 years and almost 10,000 parties we have never had a party delayed or canceled due to a tent failure! This is not by luck, but by skill, experience and the dedication of the engineers that build tents of fabric that can survive high winds. In recent years some rental companies have been marketing lite weight tents as an alternative to the heavy weight wind resistant tents. The fabric is so thin and lite that it allows light to glow outward at night and glow inward during the day. These lite weight tents do not have the wind resistance of well built heavy duty tents. If your looking for this lighting effect, we stock custom built tents that have the same effect but will handle wind gusts in the 60 mile an hour range. These tents are built the same as our heavy duty tents but use a translucent fabric that allows light to glow through. Its the best of both worlds, a unique look with the durability and reliability of heavy weight tents. |
