Most prints on this website can
be used with either pole or
frame style tents (unless
noted). Usually only minor
adjustments are needed when
allowing for tent center poles.
Every item that is to be used under the tent must be factored into the tent
sizing (tent sizing guide). Space for buffet, bars, entertainment, dance floors
and specialty tables such as dining, cake, gift and greeting card must all be
considered. A common mistake is planning to place some items outside the
tent or in other buildings, this is fine as long as the weather is good. But if the
weather is poor you may end up cramming bars and buffet lines under a tent
that is to small. It is usually better to allow space for all of what you need
under one main tent.
Below is the most common tent widths used for party tents. The links have
sample plans with different types of seating arrangements and guests
amounts. The most commonly used size for wedding receptions is the 40 foot
wide system. This system works great for wedding receptions with guest
counts of 100 to 200 hundred guests.
Party tents size are categorized by the
width of the tent. Except for one
piece tents, most tents can be
lengthened by adding mid-sections.
Generally, wider tents that are shorter
in length allow for better lay-outs than
narrow long tents. Vision, flow and
entertainment is usually better with
shorter length, wider tents. Of course
your site may have limitation on how
wide and long of a tent many fit.
